Who am I?

I recently went to Curriculum Night at my son’s high school, where the health teacher told us that one of the first questions she asks her students is “who are you?” She said most of them have no answer, because they haven’t ever asked it of themselves. Well, I’ve asked myself that question hundreds — maybe thousands — of times in my 40-something years, and I still don’t have a solid answer! So, in no particular order, a few things about me. I am:

  • an idealist
  • an 18-year (so far) veteran of wifedom
  • a mother to two amazing people
  • known as “the lady” to my dog
  • addicted to the internet
  • interested in anything and everything
  • probably drinking coffee or eating chocolate right now
  • gluten-free
  • convinced of the rightness of home birth without being too wacko about it
  • an artist
  • not likely to be caught working out
  • the owner of a very crooked nose
  • attracted to sparkly things
  • a Seattleite
  • obsessive-compulsive over crossword puzzles
  • working on bettering myself, every day

I’m delighted to meet you. Welcome!
